Katie Couric’s Prime Time

Katie Couric, has been distinguished as the first female solo evening-news anchor in the history of network news. Couric an American journalist, is currently the managing editor of the CBS Evening News. She was a co-host of NBC’s Today, a position she held from 1991-2006. She is also well-known as an interviewer. Couric participated in Sawyer’s Good Morning America going-away video.

Network executives hope Couric’s raid on prime time will showcase her strengths and help her snag more viewers earlier in the evening. CBS’ network news has consistently placed third in the ratings for more than a decade before Couric arrived at the network in September 2006, but its successful prime-time programming makes it the alycemost-watched

Sean McManus, the president of CBS News and Sports, told The New York Times. That he believes no broadcast network has aired an updated version of its dinner-hour network newscast in prime time.

Katie Couric is known to have a warmer, more benevolent presence than her competitors, she brought to the program nearly 16 years of goodwill. Today, at 53, Couric looks tomboy terrific. She’s still rocks a young look, with tennis once a week, spinning and yoga. Couric calls herself a joyful person, unashamed not cynical or dark or ironic. She admits to being a several-season fan of Dancing with the Stars.

As a single mom, Couric, who’s been seeing eco-preneur Brooks Perlin for the past three years, has said she’d like to marry again.
